Who we are

This website is operated by Calgary Carpentry (Calgary Carpentry), a carpentry and millwork business serving Calgary and the surrounding area in Alberta, Canada.

What we collect

If you submit the estimate or contact form, that is your name, and whichever of email address and phone number you provide, plus any optional details you choose to add — service of interest, timeline, budget band, community or postal code, and your message.

We also record that you consented to be contacted, and the time your submission was received. We also store the first page visited in your session, the submission page, referring website, campaign tags and advertising click IDs when available. A session storage entry keeps these details during navigation and expires after 30 minutes of inactivity. They help us understand which visits produce enquiries; they do not reveal an individual organic Google search query.

Project review photos and contractor introductions

Our free project estimate review form also collects any project photos, dimensions and finish preferences you choose to provide. Photos are resized, stripped of image metadata and stored privately with our existing database provider. Access requires business authentication. Photo access expires after 90 days, and scheduled cleanup removes expired copies. We do not publish your photos or use them as public marketing images.

With your contact consent, we may share necessary project and contact details with an approved contractor after the contractor accepts the project for review. Submitting a request does not guarantee contractor availability or a quote. We retain the request and consent record to manage the enquiry and referral follow-up. Contact us to request access, correction or deletion.

Why we collect it

To reply to your enquiry, prepare an estimate, and carry out work you engage us for. We also use acquisition details to evaluate which pages and campaigns generate enquiries. We do not add you to a mailing list, we do not sell or rent your information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used in aggregate — which pages are read, quote form interactions and successful submissions, and taps on call, email and estimate links. Your name, email, phone and project message are not sent to Google Analytics. Google Analytics uses cookies and does not log or store individual IP addresses. Google’s handling of that data is governed by its own privacy terms.

Advertising measurement

We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking pixels, or third-party remarketing tags. If that changes, this section will be updated before any advertising tracking is switched on.

How your information is protected

The site is served entirely over HTTPS. Form submissions are validated and sanitised on the server, rate-limited to prevent abuse, and protected by anti-spam checks. Credentials for our email provider are held as server-side environment variables and are never exposed to the browser.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are retained for as long as needed to respond and, where you become a client, for as long as required for the project record and any applicable legal or tax obligation. You can ask us to delete your information at any time and we will do so unless we are legally required to retain it.

Your rights

Under Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act you have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have inaccurate information corrected, to withdraw consent, and to request deletion. Contact us and we will respond within the timeframe the legislation requires.

Children

This site is intended for adults arranging home improvement work. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes to how we handle information will be described here rather than made quietly.
